Article by Jesus Manuel
Superintendent Rizzo is police fights against the drug-dealing in Naples but he has special relationship with some thieves, specially with Genarino, one old man who steals only for eating... but in the other side there are the real dangerous ones as Ferdinando Il Baron (Angelo Infanti) who works for the drugs dealers & he is under the protection of one of the most important lawyer in Naples; Althought his superiors don't like Rizzo's methods for fighting the crime, then Rizzo is expelled from police department but He will never stop until he discovers Naples has been selected as international Drug center distributor, following a line between polizieschi & giallo the movie have some surprises & we discover that the real enemy of Rizzo is one who is closed to him...
This movie is the first in a serie of 4 movies where Bud Spencer played Superintendent Rizzo, the serie had a regular cast who played the same role in every movie such as Enzo Cannavale played deputy Caputo, Dominic Barto played Tom Ferramenti (my favourite character in the serie), Enzo Maggio played the old Gennarino... etc. Some of the supporting cast appeared in the other movies playing a different role such as Angelo Infanti who played Ferdinando Il baron in this movie, played the desert warrior chief in Piedone a eggitto. Another supporting cast that appeared in this movie were: Roberto Dell'Aaqua (here with no beard) who plays an american navy sailor, also we can recognize Giovanni Cianfriglia (Ken Wood) & Nello Pazzafini fighting with Rizzo & his friends inside of ship...
We must say that this is the unique movie of the serie that is developed in Naples, later Rizzo will travel around the world in his fight against drugs.
opinion of Kazu Spara
As Bud Spencer says in a film, he is not only Italiano but Napoletano who knows all over the special city Napoli. In this film, the influence of Commissario Rizzo is totaly efficient on all crime & even on the heads of powerful Gangsters.
Rizzo is not a man who blindly believes the law like his Boss. The personage of Rizzo & the story based on Poliziesco added piquacy to Giallo, is really favorable.
This first film of serie is the best one, and an exciting music of the chase scene by G&M De Angelis is contained in a compilation disc Beat vol.2 lounge at Cinevox track.9, it's great to listening & re-listening with an image of Rizzo !
