The second film of the Piedone series. This time, the "commissario Rizzo" tries to destroy the drug connection between Italy (Napoli) and Hong Kong, and to discover the traitor inside the italian police.

During his journey Piedone recived the help of a New York's mafia member, Tom Ferramenti (who is for real an F.B.I. agent) and he takes care of an orphan japanese children called Yoko. Even if obstructed by the Italian police that thinks he's the spy, and thanks to the help of Caputo, Piedone succeeds in eliminate the drug deal and find the traitor.

In my opinion the best film of the series (which includes also Piedone lo sbirro; Piedone l'africano; Piedone d'Egitto) it signs a changement of style which grows in the third and fourth film. In fact, if in the first Piedone the polizieschi films component is more evident than the comedy one, on and after the second film (Piedone a Hong Kong), the comedy component reach, and then, almost, overtake the polizieschi one. In particular Piedone a Hong Kong is, for me, a perfect and balanced mix of these two components.

As the first film of the series, Piedone a Hong Kong reveals an "historical" meaning. Both this films make a realistic picture of Napoli (and Italy in general) during the end of 70's when a new type of criminality, which based its power on drugs traffic, started to replace the old one; wich was, for sure, less violent and dangerous : a kind of "criminality" tipical of Napoli and "tolerated" by the police (...an example is the old Gennarino).

In this movie Bud Spencer helps an orphan japanese boy who is named in the credits as Daigoro. He is Tomikawa Akihiro who starred Daigoro-chan in the Kozure okami series with Wakayama Tomisaburo. The Piedone series are a good mix among Bud spencer comedy stile & Italian police movie.
